A free session of walking football will be held in Stevenage next week to encourage more women to take up sport.
The Stevenage FC Foundation is backing the This Girl Can in Herts week by holding a free session at the town’s Shephalbury Sports Academy, based off Broadhall Way.
Taking place from 10am to 11am on Wednesday it is one of two weekly sessions which are aimed at both men and women over 50 to help them stay active.
There are also some players under 50 who take part in the non-contact sport – which is also played between 7pm to 8pm on Mondays – who have a medical condition which stops them from playing football at a hectic pace.
No specialist equipment or clothing is required. To find out more call the foundation on 01438 222222.
