A Welwyn Garden City based hospice will once again be holding its Lights of Love event this year, giving people the opportunity to remember loved ones.
Ceremonies will take place in both WGC and Hatfield, whereby lights on the trees will be symbolic in remembering and celebrating the lives of loved ones.
There will also be an opportunity to write a personal message on silver stars that will decorate the Christmas trees.
Both events will feature a Book of Love, in which the names of loved ones are entered.
These books will then be on display at the nearest Isabel Hospice shops until the beginning of January.
WGC’s event will take place on November 24 at 4pm to 6pm at The Campus (on the green) and Hatfield’s will be on November 17 at the Galleria in Comet Way.
At the ceremonies there will be a short service of remembrance, carol singing, and a countdown to the lighting of the tree.
Isabel Hospice legacy and in memorium fundraising manager Heather West described the ceremonies as a way to “celebrate the lives of loved ones by making a dedication in their name”.
She added: “Each dedication will continue to help us care for more local people, earlier in their journey whilst living with a life-shortening illness.”
