Stevenage are being linked with a move for Joe Pigott.
Boro are one of four League Two sides said to be keen on signing the Charlton Athletic striker, who has scored five goals in 28 appearances on loan at League One side Southend United this season.
He was also with the Shrimpers last year, scoring against Boro in the regular league season and then playing against them in the League Two play-offs.
Luton Town, Oxford United and Bristol Rovers are also interested in the front man, according to reports in the London press.
Stevenage have already signed both Aaron O’Connor, from Forest Green Rovers, and Offrande Zanzala, from Derby County, on loan so far in January but are thought to want to bolster their attacking options further.
