A Letchworth motorist has been jailed after admitting to driving a Mini in the town while disqualified and uninsured, undertaking another driver at a zebra crossing, and threatening a man in front of children.
Bhupinder Singh Randhawa, of Glebe Road, was given a 12-week prison sentence and banned from the road for 40 months when he appeared at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court.
While passing sentence, the judge took into account that the 28-year-old had only recently been banned from driving when the incident occurred in Broadway on October 9, and that he had made the threats when children were present.
Randhawa was also ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge, and £85 in costs.
The court refused an application for bail pending an appeal against the decision.
