Hitchin’s St Andrew’s Primary School and Nursery on Benslow Lane now has a new outdoor learning environment thanks to the efforts of their parent group, St Andrew’s School Association in raising an incredible £40,000 towards its cost.
The new facilities include play tunnels, mounds, a water pump and channel system, a sandpit, a wobbly bridge, climbing structures and a purpose built mud kitchen.
SASA chair Emma Hyman said: “Staff, parents, governors and children have worked together.
“It’s an inspiring example of the school’s wonderful community spirit.
“We’re proud of what’s been achieved.”
