A 35-year-old man from Letchworth is back behind bars after he admitted attacking a police officer in Stevenage while on licence following a previous jail term.
Hatfield magistrates heard that Anthony Lamont, of Redhoods Way West, had assaulted two men, one of them a police officer, on August 16.
He pleaded guilty to one charge of beating and another of assaulting a constable in execution of his duty.
Chairman of the bench Vivien Marshall imposed a four-week jail term, and ordered Lamont to pay a total of £75 in compensation and a £115 victim surcharge – a total bill of £190.
