Eyes, numbers and odd shapes were spray-painted on at least seven walls in Hitchin and Letchworth last week – and police have today released images of some of the graffiti in an appeal for witnesses.
The graffiti was painted on homes in Hitchin’s Hazel Court, Stuart Drive, Girons Close and The Avenue, with a garage and house in Ennismore Close in Letchworth also affected.
The unsolicited drawings – which are legally considered criminal damage – were first noticed between January 31 and February 3.
The walls affected are as follows:
• Outside wall of a house in Hazel Court in Hitchin, sprayed at some point between 10.30am on Wednesday, February 1, and 12.30pm on February 2 – crime number G1/17/319
• Side of a house in Stuart Drive in Hitchin, between 7pm on Tuesday, January 31, and 6.30am on February 1 – crime number G1/17/331
• House wall in The Avenue in Hitchin, between midnight on Wednesday, February 1, and 1pm on February 3 – crime number G1/17/330
• Garden wall in Girons Close in Hitchin, between 11am and 8pm on Tuesday, January 31 – crime number G1/17/323
• House wall in Girons Close in Hitchin, between 3pm on Wednesday, February 1, and 8am on February 2 – crime number G1/17/321
• Garage wall in Ennismore Close in Letchworth, between midnight and 7am on Thursday, February 2 – crime number G2/17/275
• House wall in Ennismore Close in Letchworth, between 8pm on Wednesday, February 1, and 11.30am on February 2 – crime number G2/17/274
