The large bags, dumped near Breachwood Green, were found on Tuesday.

A spokeswoman for North Herts District Council told the Comet that the fly-tipping had been reported to police, but that there was nothing of evidential value and no witnesses.

“Veolia, our contractor, have cleared it up,” she added. “We still want people to report anything they may have seen.”

Anyone with information should report it at north-herts.gov.uk/home/transport-and-streets/street-cleaning/fly-tipping, or call the Environment Agency incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60.
