After the huge success of a Hitchin-based charity’s first mental health and wellbeing video called ‘Let’s Talk’, the series is set to expand.

Phase has now produced four more short films aimed at helping young people and parents talk further about mental wellbeing and have released the second of their new videos this week.

The youth charity release one video a week this month covering self-harm, anxiety, misconceptions and improving wellbeing.

Trustee Matt Adcock said: “The first video that Phase produced with the talented Wade Bros Productions had a very positive impact with many young people coming forward to share their struggles with mental health issues.

“I’m excited to see the new films and the genuine benefits they will have in helping the young people in Hitchin and beyond who get to see them.”

The Hitchin based youth charity’s series of cutting edge short videos kicked the whole project off with a film premier evening at The Queen Mother Theatre attended by a host of people from across Hitchin including the local young people who helped make the films.

Geraint Edwards, head of the Priory School on Bedford Road attended the premier told the Comet: “Phase delivers outstanding work and support to young people across Hitchin.

“The Let’s Talk series is a fantastic initiative which not only benefits our young people here is Hitchin, but is being given away for free to schools and organisations all over the country.”

Each film is accompanied with a free teaching pack which schools in our area and nationwide have started to register to receive.

Kieran Murphy, director of Phase said ‘It is an exciting opportunity for Phase to freely share our resources so that young people across the country can benefit from the great work happening here in Hitchin between us and schools in the town.

“Phase are passionate about supporting young people across Hitchin and mental health is an area which needs more and more support.

“Lookout for the Let’s Talk postcards around the town.

“The Let’s Talk project was made possible through funding from the Big Lottery programme, the wonderful support of Wade Bros Productions, the three secondary schools and Hitchin Film club for allowing us to host our premier.”
