More than 500 rainbow warriors turned out in Stevenage at the weekend to get drenched in paint and sweat in aid of Garden House Hospice Care.
Fundraisers descended on Thomas Alleyne Academy in the Old Town to run, jog, dance, wiggle or walk around the course to raise funds for the Letchworth-based hospice.
ColourClashSplash runners were sprayed with yellow, green, blue and purple paint as they passed through four colour stations, climbing over inflatables and more along the way.
Garden House events manager Cathy White said: “ColourClashSplash is all about celebrating happiness, togetherness and giving back to the community for a great cause. We hope this family event did just that!
“Thanks to everyone who took part, we were blown away to see so many colourful happy faces.
“We certainly met some very colourful and drenched teams at the end – thankfully they all had big smiles on their faces and were up for taking part next year.”
She added: “A big thank you to Thomas Alleyne’s head Mark Lewis, and special thanks to our event sponsors, as well as all the marshalls and volunteers who helped make this event happen.
“We encourage everyone to return their sponsorship monies and help us smash our £35,000 fundraising target.”
Volunteers from the hospice, Nuffield Health and TPS Vision manned the colour stations, and staff from Baldock Tesco joined firefighters to soak the runners near the final colour station and finish line.
