A golf club has raised more than £7,000 for a charity dedicated to providing special days for young adults who are seriously ill.
As the men’s captain at Chesfield Downs Golf and Country Club in Graveley, Craig Crowhurst chose the Willow Foundation as the club’s charity of the year.
The foundation was founded in 1999 by former Arsenal goalkeeper and TV presenter Bob Wilson and his wife Megs in memory of their daughter, Anna, who died of cancer aged 31.
Fundraising activites throughout the year and a charity golf day held in May have raised a total of £7,723 so far.
Craig and two other club members won an auction to play a round of golf with Bob at Hanbury Manor in Ware, where he was presented with a giant cheque for the funds raised so far this year.
Craig said: “Our members at the club are amazing.”
