Keech Hospice Care plans to enchant hundreds of vistors the weekend after next in the return of Keechfest.
For the third year in a row, on September 10 the family-friendly event at the Luton hospice will feature live acts, a barbecue, craft stalls, children’s activities, and a bar.
Seventy per cent of the hospice’s support comes directly from the public, so the funds raised will be crucial.
Chief executive Liz Searle said: “Who says you can’t party at a hospice?”
Music lovers can look forward to acts including The Voice’s Lawrence Hill and Luton favourites the Wilsons in the surroundings of the Alan Titchmarsh gardens.
One lucky person will get to enjoy a custom-designed ice cream flavour, thanks to a competition currently open on the hospice’s Facebook page to suggest a new flavour.
The winner will get a free family ticket and the chance to buy their concoction at the festival’s ice cream stall.
Visitors can also explore the colourful new Courtyard Garden, designed by Gardener’s World presenter Adam Frost.
Liz said: “I understand why some people might think hospices are the last place you’d party the afternoon away, but Keech Hospice Care celebrates all that is great about life – and KeechFest will prove it.”
The hospice cares for adults and children with life-limiting and terminal illnesses in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes, and emphasises bringing as much joy to life as possible.
Tickets are available here and cost £5 per adult, £2.50 each for children and 50p for infants.
