It has been a record year of A-level results for the John Henry Newman School in Stevenage.
More than a third of all grades gained were A* to A.
Some 58 per cent of all grades at A-level were A* to B – an increase of five per cent from last year.
The average grade gained by students studying BTEC and CTEC courses was a distinction star.
The vast majority of students gained places at their universities of choice, and there were many outstanding individual achievements which the school will celebrate at its annual awards evening.
Head of sixth form Mrs Wendy Howard said: “We would like to thank the parents for their continued support, and staff for all their hard work.
“We, of course, wish the students all the very best with their future plans.
“I am delighted to see the hard work and efforts of our students pay off with many wonderful results. It is incredibly pleasing to see the rise in the percentage of A* to B grades gained.
“The students have excelled despite the uncertainty surrounding the introduction of the more challenging reformed A levels. I look forward to continuing this rising trend in the excellent record of achievement at the school.”
