Two Stevenage men who allegedly broke into a house and attempted to murder a victim armed with a glass bottle and a knife are facing trial at St Albans Crown Court.
Pearce John McGinnity, 26, of Abbey Grove in Sandy, and Roy O’Donoghue, 36, of Ditchmore Lane in Stevenage, both deny attempting to murder Jay Williams.
They are also alleged to have committed aggravated burglary and to have unlawfully and maliciously wounded the victim, with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.
The charges relate to an incident on April 9 last year, when they are alleged to have entered the property in Stevenage’s Spencer Way armed with the knife and bottle.
The case continues.
