Foster couples from Stotfold and Sandy were among those recognised at a celebration of the county’s foster carers.
Diane Humberstone and Richard Bollen, of Stotfold, received the Fabulous Foster Carers Award from Central Beds Council in recognition of their work with two foster children over 15 months, during which the children’s health, confidence and education have improved. Diane and Richard have helped them celebrate their heritage and stay in contact with their birth families.
Long-service awards were given to 15 foster carers and couples during the event at Woburn Safari Park, with Heidi and Jason Livings of Sandy among them. They won a five-year award.
Councillor Carole Hegley, responsible for social care, said: “All of our foster carers deserve massive thanks and praise for the work which they do with the children in their care. Their dedication helps these children go on and accomplish so much.”
