A suspected burglar has appeared in court charged with offences including firearm possession and making threats to kill after an overnight siege in Hitchin.
Daniel Lambie was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning after police including armed officers and the dog unit surrounded a house near the corner of Woolgrove Road and High Dane from about 7.30pm on Tuesday.
Police said a man in his 50s was taken to hospital with a head wound after an altercation.
The 56-year-old – of Woolgrove Road – was charged on Wednesday with burglary, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, making threats to kill and assaulting a police officer.
He was detained in custody and appeared before magistrates at Hatfield Remand Court yesterday. He has been remanded into custody and is next set to appear at St Albans Crown Court on June 15.
