Three arrests have been made after a knife was found in a BMW on Monday, following an altercation involving four teenagers in Stevenage town centre.
A large police presence was seen in Stevenage’s Town Square after officers were alerted at 1.27pm on Monday to an altercation at the nearby McDonalds.
It was reported that violence was threatened, and officers subsequently stopped a white BMW in Lytton Way – near the police station – as part of their enquiries.
Police conducted a search of the car and the occupants, and a knife was recovered.
The three occupants – a 17-year-old girl, a 22-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman, all from Stevenage – were arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing an offensive weapon.
