Forty students from a Hitchin dance school will be on the silver screen today as Disney’s live-action remake of Dumbo hits cinemas.
Children aged between five and 14, from Aspire School of Dance in Wilbury Way, took part in filming at Cardington and Pinewood Studios in 2017 – and appear in the crowd during scenes at the circus.
Student Caitlin Seaby also acted as a double for Nico Parker, who plays Milly Farrier, daughter of main character Holt Farrier.
Aspire principal Leonie Shephard has arranged a special screening for the children, their friends and families at Stevenage’s Cineworld on Sunday.
“The children were dressed in period costume and hair during filming and were lucky enough to meet some of the big stars of the film while on set,” said Leonie.
“As you can imagine, this was an incredible experience for them and opened up a world of opportunities showing them lots of different career paths to work towards when they are older.”
