There's much to love about our towns and villages across North Herts.
With rolling hills and natural springs to historic buildings and quirky landmarks, you could say that North Herts has it all!
As part of our relaunch, we wanted to get the inside scoop on our villages' most redeeming features, so we asked the most honest critics we know - our youngest readers - to share with us all what they love about their school and the village that it's in.
Rosie, seven, who is in Year 3 at Ashwell Primary School, told the Comet how her favourite places in the village are the war memorial when adorned with poppy wreaths, the springs to play in and the local bakery - which, she insists, is where you can get your hands on the yummiest gingerbread men.
Classmate Sebastian, also seven and in Year 3, added: "I love my village because it's got a lot of history like the Great Fire of Ashwell."
Nina, in Year 5, explained that she loves how tight-knit a community Ashwell is, adding how she loves "that we can just say hello to anyone and we are all very friendly".
Classmate Annabel, also in Year 5, shared how she loves all the activities her school runs, and loves the "beautiful springs, church, bakery and the spectacular wildlife".
Clemmie added: "I love my village because it has lots of walks with nature to look at."
Year 3 pupil Holly, seven, said: "I like my village because there is lots of history about it such as the Great Fire of Ashwell and the Lock Up.
"I also like my school because I like my topic Ancient Egypt and every year we have a harvest festival and songs."
Across patch in Ardeley St Lawrence, early years children told us how they love their outdoor area. "We enjoy walking to the woods and looking for fairies."
Eight-year-old Sophia, in Year 4 at Ardeley St Lawrence Primary said she loves her village and school "because there are a lot of friends to make".
Nine-year-old Layla, in Year 5, said that "Ardeley is the best because it has lovely teachers there and lovely children to play with".
