An appeal has been launched to collect 5,000 colouring books to give to Ukrainian children.
Just be a Child - a charity set up by Stevenage resident Lenka McAlinden to transform shipping containers into libraries in Kenya - has launched the appeal.
Lenka said: "We have decided to start a collection of colouring books and pencils for the children of Ukraine. We need 5,000 books, 10,000 pencils and £2,000 to make this happen.
"We are hoping that local businesses, schools and individuals will buy new colouring books and pencils and send them to our headquarters, and that they will donate £1 each to help us get the items to a UK aid convoy heading to Poland."
Items can be dropped off at Dollimore and Christie on Stevenage Road in Hitchin - SG4 7JY - between 9.30am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
The collection will run until March 27.
