Boro boss Graham Westley saluted the "passion" of his side after watching them grab all three points at Altrincham on Saturday.

Mark Roberts' injury time strike made it 10 wins in a row for Westley's men despite not being at their best for much of the afternoon.

But the Boro chief said that, at this point in the season, the importance of the performance pales into insignificance when you're going for a play-off place.

"We've spoken a lot in recent weeks about performance being secondary to results," said Westley. "It's great if you can generate the performance and the results but what we did see in the second half was a very hardworking team effort.

"We had the passion to go on and win the football match and those are fantastic characteristics to have. It's an enjoyable experience as manager to be around players like that."

Westley was delighted with the character of his side, who looked to be slipping to their first defeat since December until Andy Drury's header hauled the Hertfordshire side back on level terms after Colin Little's first half penalty.

Drury has been in sparkling form in recent weeks notching three in his last four games and, when his attitude is right, Westley believes there are few more accomplished footballers at this level.

"He has had to show great spring, great bravery and great power to head the ball in.

"It was a very good header. He is a player that's renowned for his quality but when he shows that sort of guts and he is one hell of a player at this level."

But it was left to Roberts to steal the headlines as the former Northwich Victoria man's volley ensured Boro remain firmly in the play-off mix.

Westley revealed the quality of his strike was a point up for debate among the squad.

"I thought it was a great volley. The boys are saying that it was a clearance that smashed into his leg! Robbo is still claiming a great volley so we'll have to have a look at that one.

"Credit to him because there were two challenges that he went through and he has been immense since he came to this football club.

"I don't think he had his best of first halves but he bounced back strongly.
