THERE are no confirmed cases of swine flu in Hertfordshire, a health body has verified following reports a Stevenage worker has been quarantined as a precaution.
This morning (Tuesday) The Comet reported that a worker at Stevenage Railway Station has been quarantined amid swine flu fears, after she retuned from a trip to Mexico.
According to the manager of Amigo, a newsagents at Stevenage station, a member of staff was checked for symptoms of swine flu when she landed back in Britain and has been ordered to stay at home for one week.
A spokesman for the NHS East and North Hertfordshire said: "We have no confirmed cases in Hertfordshire but the guidelines issued by the Health Protection Agency for those people suffering from flu-like symptoms, who have recently returned from an area where there has been sustained human-human transmission of swine flu, is that they remain at home and contact their GP by phone.
"During any testing process, they are advised to remain at home and avoid contact with others. This is advice that is routinely being given by GPs and health agencies.
