Emergency services were called to the station at 9.30am after a person was struck by a 125 express travelling towards London.
All travellers have been evacuated from the station and no trains are stopping at Stevenage while British Transport Police carry out an investigation into the tragedy.
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: "At the moment we do not know whether the victim was male or female.
