Hitchin Boys School are celebrating their best ever GCSE exam results today.
With 76 per cent of pupils achieving five or more A* to C grades the school has beaten its previous record.
Those who did well included 92 boys (58 per cent) who got at least one A grade, while 42 (28 per cent) excelled achieving five or more A* or A grades.
Headteacher Keith Wadsworth said: "We are absolutely delighted. These are the best results we have ever had. At a comprehensive school, if two thirds can get one grade A, they can get one subject that they excel in.
