Over 1,500 homes are still without electricity in Hitchin after a power cut this morning (Monday).
Engineers from suppliers EDF are still working to reconnect 1,743 houses after a fault developed shortly after 8am in an underground high voltage cable knocking out thousands of homes.
The power cut has also affected traffic in the town, hitting the lights at the junction of Bancroft and Hermitage Road.
An EDF spokesman said they are doing all they can to solve the problem.
