FIREFIGHTERS were called to Fairlands Valley Lakes, Stevenage, this afternoon after reports that a bird was trapped in a tree.
A unit from Stevenage and the water rescue unit from Hatfield had to use an inflatable path and a nine metre ladder to reach the crow that had become entangled in fishing line and was hanging from the tree.
An hour after the rescue operation started the bird was handed over to an RSPCA inspector and taken away to be checked over by a vet.
