Boro boss Graham Westley has thanked Torquay United and the Boro board for concluding a deal to bring Michael Brough to The Lamex Stadium on a month-long loan.

Following the collapse of Setanta, Westley was told that there was no more money available to bring in new additions to his squad but, following a number of injuries to key players, the Stevenage chief has been allowed to bring in Brough, who played in the club's 1-1 draw against Altrincham on Saturday.

"We have not got anything in the budget at all and Torquay have been really good in the deal that they've done," Westley told The Comet after reportedly fending off interest from Mansfield for the midfielder's services.

"The chairman and the board have also been fantastic in the regard they have been prepared to do a little bit for us.

"I think it's just a sign of where we are at. We're in a decent position and, with resources being so low and knocks being so high, I think everyone has realised that we need to do something to help ourselves out.
