MID Beds Tory MP Nadine Dorries has admitted she hid cash in her bra while being filmed living with a family on a council estate for the reality Channel 4 show Tower Block of Commons.

Ms Dorries agreed to live with a family, two sisters and their eight children on a crime-ridden South Acton estate in west London, and survive spending no more than 64.30, a week's job seekers' allowance.

It has now emerged that after one night in the flat she was caught breaking the rules when she admitted hiding a 50 note in her bra but her excuse is she wanted the money to buy Christmas presents for her hosts' children.

Ms Dorries said on her blog: "When the camera crew left on the first night, I told my host I had the money.

"I had the money in my bra. Aware I was with children, and it being two weeks before Christmas, I wasn't going to leave my family without leaving behind some Christmas presents for the children, so I popped 50 down my top.
