A MOTHER will be donning her running shoes to raise money for a domestic violence charity.
Stevenage resident Angela Moore will take part in the Adidas Silverstone Half-Marathon on March 14 in aid of Refuge.
The 33-year-old said: "Starting running has changed my life in so many ways. As well as losing four stone and getting fit, I have improved my confidence and made some good friends at Fairlands Valley Spartans running club."
She said her initial target when she joined the club in July 2008 was to complete a 5k race without walking. She has since entered two half-marathons.
"I was very surprised and delighted to receive the club's award for Most Improved Female 2009, and it has reminded me just how far I have come," said Ange.
"I love running and am looking forward to the challenge of this up-and-coming half-marathon."
She is aiming to raise 380 for Refuge. To sponsor Ange, call her on 01438 369853 or visit www.justgiving.com/Angela-Moore
Sandra Horley OBE, chief executive of Refuge, said: "Ange's fundraising efforts will help support Refuge's life-saving and life-changing work. I wish her the best of luck for the challenge."
