FOUR hospital lifts which have travelled the equivalent of 25 times around the world are being replaced, with an investment of 850,000.
The 38-year-old lifts in Lister Hospital's main tower block will be renewed in pairs, with the project expected to take eight months.
The new lifts, with the first pair set to come into service from mid-July 2010, will be faster and more reliable and will have audio and visual display systems.
