The exit polls and early results with swings to the Conservative Party - delighted Tory Nadine Dorries who is hot favourite to hold her seat in Mid Beds.
Speaking from her home she told The Comet shortly before midnight that the Tory train was now unstoppable and David Cameron would be Britain's Prime Minister tomorrow morning.
"The turn out is very high. I have been visiting the polling stations in Mid Beds throughout the day and I believe the turn out has been as high as 80 per cent," said Ms Dorries.
"I believe the Conservative vote will be better than expected and we could have a majority of nine seats at the end. I believe the increased Conservative vote is a clear rejection of Gordon Brown and his Labour policies and the Tory train will not be stopped.
