THIS summer’s Stevenage Day is brimming with entertainment for people of all ages
THE biggest event in a town’s social calendar, which has been held annually in the town for the past 50 years, will this year include dance demonstrations, dog displays and a football festival.
Stevenage Day will be held on King George V Playing Fields on Sunday, June 13, with the event kicking off at 1pm with a seven-a-side football festival.
On the day, there will be more than 100 stalls where you can try your luck at some traditional challenges, sample local produce and view local crafts.
The programme of events includes a demonstration by the majorettes of North Herts Sparklets at 1.15pm, followed by a Barking Mad dog display at 1.45pm.
At 2.30pm the Camps Hill Cheerleaders are set to entertain visitors, with dance group The Academy following at 3pm.
Barking Mad will take centre stage again at 3.30pm before members of Premiere School of Dance show off their talent at 4.15pm.
Professor Des Turner’s Punch and Judy Show will be entertaining children with performances throughout the afternoon, at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm, and train rides will be available from 12.30pm.
A prize draw will be held at 5pm, to mark the end of the event.
