Former Arsenal defender coming to Stevenage as part of McDonald’s Football Open Day
ARSENAL legend Martin Keown wil be on hand to pass on his tips to young footballers at a free football open day this Sunday.
The McDonald’s Football Open Day is free of charge and forms part of McDonald’s Community partnership with The FA and aims to inspire youngsters to give the game a go and sharpen their skills through a series of interactive coaching sessions.
In addition to the former Gunner, McDonald’s head coach Eric Harrison will also be at the event. Harrison is a former head of Manchester United’s Youth Academy and is credited for helping to create the infamous Class of ‘92 which included Paul Scholes, the Neville brothers and David Beckham.
Alex Tunbridge, head of Stevenage Football Club in the Community, says: “We’re incredibly excited that Martin Keown will be joining in with us and we’re looking forward to welcoming as many people as possible, whether their passion is as a young player, coach or volunteer.”
The open day will kick off at 10am on July 25 at Stevenage FC Academy, Broadhall Way, Stevenage.
