AFTER an enchanting performance at this year’s Secret Garden Party I was inspired to find out a bit more about Blasko, who it turns out (much to the shame of my musical knowledge) is a multi-award winning artist with a well respected back catalogue.
The Australian singer/songwriter’s latest album (her third) was released in April and is a great listen. The accompanying music is usually very simple, allowing Blasko’s voice to take centre stage in this laid back album which pays homage to jazz and blues.
Listen to Over & Over and the strong beat in No Turning Back to get a flavour of Blasko. It shouldn’t disappoint.
