Anglers are being enticed to Fairlands Valley Lakes after it was restocked today (Thursday) with 5,000 worth of new fish.
The new stocks were introduced to the sailing lake at the Stevenage beauty spot this afternoon by Stevenage Borough Council and lake managers Welwyn GC Angling Club.
Chairman of the club, Jeff Mills, said they wanted to encourage anglers to come to the lake by adding 550 bream, 500 small chub and 70 tench to the original stock that was returned last summer after a two-year restoration of the lake.
Reed islands have also been introduced to encourage water quality and fish health.
