A dalek, Spiderman and a loo walk into a school…no, not the start of a very funny joke, but a sponsored run in aid of good causes.
The fancy-dressed pupils were just some of the costumed runners raising money at the annual Barnwell School fun run in Stevenage on Friday.
The beneficiaries of the estimated 2,000 raised on the day include Hertfordshire Young Carers, Help For Heroes, Build a Schoolbag, Sturge Weber Syndrome, Diabetes UK and The Bluebell Ward at Lister Hospital.
Deputy headteacher, Paul Barnett said: “It was a wonderful sight to see such a happy school community, working together in such a positive way whilst helping to raise money for the charities. It was an excellent event that is part of our tradition in helping to foster our strong community ethos and raising money for and awareness of our chosen charities.”
