TEENAGERS from a Letchworth GC scout group flew out to southern Africa on Wednesday on an expedition to help rural communities.
Katie Goodwin, 15, and 16-year-olds Emma Hart and Luke Franklin will be visiting Swaziland, Lesotho and Kwa-zulu Natal in South Africa during the three-week expedition following a year spent fundraising for the trip.
The trio, who all live in Letchworth GC and are members of the Oak Eagle Explorer Scout Unit in the town, will help build an adventure playground, chicken farm and vegetable garden during their stay, as well as getting the chance to visit an orphanage.
