Boro get ready to host the Blades at the Lamex Stadium
Stevenage v Sheffield United (preview)
Lamex Stadium
Saturday, November 5 3pm ko
Team news
Darius Charles could return to the Stevenage squad this weekend after working his way back from a knee injury. The striker has been out of action since missing the 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield Town last month and if fit could take the place of Byron Harrison in Boro’s starting XI. Striker Don Cowan will hope to make the squad after being named as an unused substitute in last weekend’s win at Bury, while Stacy Long could also return.
Sheffield United boss Danny Wilson has no new injury worries ahead of this weekend’s tie but the match could come a few days too soon for both Lee Williamson (leg) and Nathaniel Mendez-Long (hamstring).
Form guide
Boro go into Saturday’s match on the back of a four match unbeaten run, with back-to-back away victories at Brentford and Bury following a draw against Yeovil Town and a win at home to Charlton Athletic last month.
Boro currently sit 10th in League 1 following their run, and have clocked up three clean sheets in their past four League 1 matches.
Sheffield United have dropped four points from winning positions in their past three games after conceding two late goals against Exeter City last weekend (final score 4-4) and one at Leyton Orient (1-1). However The Blades go into Saturday’s match having lost just once in their past six league games.
Did you know?
Richard Cresswell knows how to foul better than Lecsinel Jean-Francois – both players have been booked four times this season but for Cresswell it has taken 32 fouls, for Jean-Francois it has taken just 12.
