FAMILY and friends of a man who lived in Letchworth GC for 91 years will gather for a memorial service in his honour tomorrow (Wednesday).
The life of Sid Gravett, who died earlier this month at the age of 93, will be remembered at Letchworth Free Church, where he was an elder.
Sid, who fought in World War II, spent much of his life working for the British Tabulator Machine Company - later to become ICL - at their design centre in the town.
The former Broadway resident also joined the Masons and became a life long member of Iceni Lodge.
As well as ballroom dancing and gardening, one of Sid’s great loves was fast cars, and he still drove his beloved Mazda RX-8 until the age of 91, prior to his health deteriorating.
The service will be held at 11am, with refreshments afterwards at the church.
