TEENAGERS are being encouraged to head along to an open day exploring opportunities for joining an air cadet squadron.

Hitchin Air Cadet Squadron is hosting the event at Hitchin’s TA Centre, Bedford Road, on Monday.

There will be presentations and demonstrations about opportunities on offer to those who join the squadron.

Members, who must be between the ages of 13 and 20, meet at the TA centre every Monday and Wednesday evening.

The ATC gives young people the chance to fly, train, take on the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, gain BTECs, learn target rifle shooting and First Aid, among other things.

To find out more, visit the open evening between 7.30pm and 9pm, or visit www.hitchinaircadets.co.uk
