There have been jukebox musicals devoted to the hits of Queen, Rod Stewart, Madness and many other chart-toppers – but Lindisfarne?

If we draw a discreet veil over a misguided match-up with Gazza and a disco drum machine, the Geordie band were never exactly stadium material.

But they were Tyneside’s best-loved band for more than 30 years and The Lindisfarne Story is a celebration of the group’s music and achievements.

The show, which arrives at the Gordon Craig Theatre next Wednesday, October 15, is devised, written and performed by drummer and founder member Ray Laidlaw and Billy Mitchell, front man for the final eight years of the group’s life.

They perform acoustic versions of Lindisfarne’s classic songs like Lady Eleanor, Meet Me On The Corner and Fog On The Tyne, and tell the inside story of the group’s rise to fame. Call 01438 363200 or visit
