There’s a highbrow offering coming to the stage at Stevenage’s Gordon Craig Theatre at the end of the month.
The Russian State Ballet and Opera House touring company will be bringing both Giselle and The Nutcracker to town, with music performed by a large live orchestra.
Giselle is hailed as the greatest of all romantic ballets while Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker is a seasonal favourite which sets the scene for Christmas, full of familiar tunes and regarded as one of the most accessible ballets in the classical canon.
Producer Alexej Ignatow said: “With Russian ballet, you get passion! We pride ourselves in bringing over from Russia a new theatre company and production every year, with much that is original to them. That way people get a new experience.”
The show is in Stevenage on Thursday and Friday, October 30 and 31, and tickets are £34.Visit www.ballet-tickets.com for booking details.
