A road trip from Essex to faraway Rome doesn’t sound like the basis for a gripping drama, but it’s the way Chris Dobrowolski tells them that will mean you’re happy to be along for the ride.
Chris lovingly repaired his family’s old Triumph Herald estate so that he could drive it all the way from his childhood home in Braintree to Rome, taking in Turin where this quintessentially English car was designed along the way.
And the journey helped deliver All Roads Lead To Rome, an acclaimed theatre piece being staged at Letchworth Arts Centre next Friday, February 20.
The show brings together car mechanics, a road trip, dictators and the fetishisation of possessions in a solo performance using old photos, new film and surprising mechanical objects.
The show starts at 7.30pm with doors open half an hour earlier.
Tickets are £9 in advance on 01462 670788 or online via www.letchwortharts.org, or £12 on the door.
