The team at Letchworth’s David’s Bookshop have snared another big name author for a personal appearance at the iconic Eastcheap store.

Aussie writer Graeme Simsion became a global bestseller with The Rosie Project, the biggest selling debut of 2014 and a favourite with book groups up and down the country.

He’ll be in Letchworth to talk about and sign copies of the follow-up, The Rosie Effect, which has also been flying off the shelves.

The event will be at 5pm on Sunday, March 15.

The Rosie Project introduced us to one of the most unforgettable characters in contemporary fiction – socially challenged genetics professor Don Tillman – as he struggled to find a wife.

He’d never had a second date before meeting Rosie, but the second book finds them well on the way to their first wedding anniversary and the upright boffin coming to terms with the pleasures and pains of pairdom. Then comes a bombshell from his unconventional other half...

Tickets for the event are £5, which can be deducted from the cost of the paperback book (£7.99) if you buy it on the evening.

And as it’s Mother’s Day, if you bring along your mum she won’t pay a penny.

You can find out more about what’s in store at the shop – including an evening appearance on Tuesday, March 10, by award-winning environmentalist Tony Juniper – online at www.davids-bookshops.co.uk.
