A FOOTBALL club has scored with a £33,960 grant from the Football Foundation.
Langford FC chairman Mick Quinlan said the cash will go towards providing one of the best playing surfaces in the South Midland Premier Division and improvements to the stands to provide better comfort and safety for spectators.
"Grants of this nature are the lifeblood of football at our level," said Mr Quinlan.
"We attempt to maintain a high standard at Langford with a group of hard-working volunteers.
"The grant will enable the club to resurface the playing area, which has numerous hollows and undulations that have appeared during the 22-year use of Forde Park, possibly caused by voids when it was a landfill site."
Two metal stands with fold-up seating for 109 spectators will replace the wooden stands which were built 20 years ago.
All the work will be completed during the close season.
