A MAN has received a prestigious award in recognition for the years given as a volunteer to St John Ambulance.
Stevenage man Bradley Sweet was invested as a member of the Order of St John at a special ceremony held in the historic Grand Priory Church in London.
Mr Sweet has been a volunteer for 17 years and was admitted as Serving Brother.
He was presented with the insignia by the prior of the Priory of England and the Islands, Sir Brian Jenkins.
The award was approved by The Queen.
Sir Brian said: "Mr Sweet is being honoured at the investiture ceremony in recognition of his dedicated and exceptional voluntary service.
