A TOWN festival which kicked off on Saturday has proved to be a big success.
The Baldock festival is 23 years old this year and people have been flocking to the area to take part in champagne breakfasts, scavenger hunts and a visit to Buntingford Brewery.
Andrew Grudzinski, who helped organise the festival, said he was very pleased with how it was going.
He said: "It's been very successful with five or six events having been sold out, including the festival wine testing.
"It has been hard work but very rewarding. We still have lots of events over the next 10 days.
"The Baldock fire station open day on Saturday should be popular. Last year we had hundreds of people turning up."
There is also an allotment open day this Saturday when residents with green fingers can go along and find out how to grow their own vegetables.
In the evening there is a jazz concert at Knights Templar School, from 7.30pm, which will be attended by Andrew Pickering, who will become the school's new headteacher in September.
Wednesday will be the last day for residents to see the Baldock at War display at Baldock Museum and on May 20 the Medieval Street Fair takes place and will include 50 local craft and charity stalls, entertainment and fairground rides.
