A local chef cooked up a success story when he helped launch the first Tastes of Bedfordshire event in Biggleswade Market Square yesterday (Wednesday).

The alfresco feast was part of the farmers' market and all the produce came from local suppliers.

Chef Trace Bug-gins produced mouth watering delights such as pork and leek sausage made with Potton beer, sea bass and kale with fresh tomato sauce, pan fried lamb's liver and olive oil mash, pan fried chicken and pork loin steaks.

"The event was very successful and people were very impressed by the wonderful food Trace cooked," said Michelle Chaplin, of Biggleswade Town Council who helped organise the event and the market.
