TRAVELLERS on the A1(M) heading south suffered severe congestion after a fatal accident at junction seven Stevenage this morning (Monday).
A motorcyclist, believed to be from Cambridgeshire, was killed after colliding with a lorry 40 yards from the slip road heading south.
Traffic trailed back several miles and police diverted vehicles off the motorway at junction eight and nine heading south.
The motorway was not expected to be fully open until at least 1pm.
