Is to launch his book 'Take the Train from Hitchin, a journey into our Local Railway Heritage', including a chapter on the axed Shefford branch line. Phil, who has a life-long love of railways was inspired to write his book, published by the Hitchin Historical Society, after seeing others writing books on less important lines. Phil is at the Corn Exchange Hitchin on Saturday from 10am to 1pm for the launch of the book. Anyone who would like to know more, or to obtain a copy, can contact Phil on 01462 621990. The book may be of interest to those interested in railways and in local history. Remnants of the railway are still visible in the area and many are nostalgic over the demise of the railway in Shefford.
